Food Idioms

wordle
Jientje at Heaven is in Belgium, hosts these picture idioms.

The Last Straw
When one small burden after another creates an unbearable situation, the last straw is the last small burden that one can take.

Can't Cut the Mustard
Someone who isn't adequate enough to compete or participate is said not to be able to cut the mustard.

** No mustard bottles were in any way injured when making this picture.

I am glad the mustard survived intact! Good illustrations of both idioms!

Two more brilliant idioms Dr John!! I have always thought the last straw was the last thing to hang on to, the last hope one has when things are bad? Hmm, interesting.

I love that last one, and it always makes me smile when I imagine how you and your wife put these little scenes together. It makes me wonder, who's the stylist, and who's the director? LOL!! Betty is the obvious photographer, that's for sure!
