boy foot bear

Flash Fiction 55
Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.Here is today's

The bear was a truly mean one.
But he had feet like a child.

No one could catch him.
He destroyed cages ,and people.
Then came the mighty bear hunter, Nicholas Chan.
He had great talent and a very special wood cage.

And that's how they caught the

Boy foot bear with Teaks of Chan

Since I discovered it was okay I am writing a second flash 55 which will be a continuous story but a complete story every week. Here then is the thirty fifth chapter in the exciting ongoing adventures of Sir Laughsalot and Robberhood.

The entire story to date is HERE
The most recent chapters are HERE

Laughsalot wanted to get ahead
Leaving the comfort of bed
He needed a dragon head
He found the dragon Paul
In the old village Small
It sat upon a wall
It killed three good Knights
Burned up in the fights
Gave the village the frights
So Laughsalot raised his sword
Dragon just looked very bored.

I'm with G-Man; I don't get it either....
As near as I can figure out, it's a spoonerism of "Barefoot boy with cheeks of tan...?" But I don't know what that means either. Never heard of it. Is it from a movie? Book? Song? TV?

Sorry I have failed you. :)

I promise to hang my head in shame for the next 20 seconds.

Thanks for doing Friday 55, though!
Mine is ready, too... right HERE.

Loved the Laughsalot take. I didn't get the 55 either, I'm afraid. Mindst you, that might be because I'm a Brit and don't know the line you're getting at.

To all those who didn't get your story, I offer the Barefoot Boy With Cheeks of Tan. Amoeba and I loved it, Dr. John!

Bubbie said...

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one who didn't get the last line. But I know it's EXCELLENT, Dr. John, once we DO get it. I say this week after week - but you are so entertaining and talented. You make it look easy. We appreciate you weekly!

Very clever, I think I will take your inspiration and look at humor more... It is my attitude in life, when happy and loved.
You made me laugh boy foot bear with teaks of Chan. HA!

Ed & Jeanne said...

Ha! It is a groaner. I'm never barefoot, I never tan my "cheeks" and I never knew anyone named Chan. It's a wonder I got this...but I did...

How do you do this every week? I tried for a week to come up with a groaner...to no avail! You have a very special talent, ya know?

Lovin the Sir Laughsalot series! Have a great weekend!

I heard this one told another way but same shaggy punch line. Pretty funny. My 55 is HERE.

LOL! I'd never be able to come up with these in just 55 words; I love them (don't mind photos of Mr. Chan as often as possible, either!!)

Can't wait to find out what happens between Sir and Dragon, meanwhile...what's Laughsalot planning?
